I recently showed my MBA class how to use Twitter. On the whole, they were like many people who haven't experienced Twitter in that they were resistant and weren't really sure that it would be useful to them. However, they are now enjoying the platform and using it to communicate with each other on projects and also with the authors of their books. I think Twitter is a great way for students to connect with others and build their own personal learning network.
Here's an useful article to those new to Twitter: 25 Ways To Get the Most out of Twitter.
I'm always amazed when I get the chance to interact with high profile people on Twitter. People I would never have the chance to talk with in real life. I've had "conversations" with several best selling authors, musicians, artists, and Fortune 500 CEOs, as well as people from overseas. It's amazing how well connected we can be in such a big world. Thanks for sharing the tips!

I am too! For several years now, I've been able to contact textbook authors for the books I use in my classes and have them then Skype in as guest speakers. Without Twitter, I would never have been able to interact with these authors. Thanks for commenting.
