Kenneth Davis has some great advice that I'm going to pass on to my students as they finish up their research papers: "The key to revising is looking at your work as your reader will." How to do this? Put down your rough draft, go away for even five minutes, and then come back and read it as if someone else had written it. Pretend you are seeing your paper for the first time and then revise it until it is good enough for your signature (and to submit to your professor!)
