Do you allow your students to text message in class? Why or Why not?

No, I don't (or at least not knowingly). I don't believe they can do so and still be engaged in the class. I wouldn't allow games, watching DVD on laptops, talking to classmate about non-class-related activities, etc, either. Do you have a reason why you think this could be appropriate?
