There are two kinds of people in this world...those who write To Do lists and those who don't. As one who does, I don't understand those other people. That's why I was excited to see that Lorraine Pirihi has some great tips on managing your time with a To Do list:
1. Make your list out either first thing in the morning (before starting your work day) or last thing at night (for the next day). I personally like to do this at night as it allows me to then concentrate on other things (like what to have for dinner!)
2. Put the list on paper. As Lorraine says, "It must, must, must be written down. And then left somewhere highly visible..."
3. See your list as a work in progress and update it during the day as your priorities change.
4. Put only realistic, achievable goals and activities on your list.
5. Once you have written everything down, go back and prioritize your list by numbering each item.
The best part of a To Do list, of course, is crossing things off. On those crazy days when I haven't done anything on my list, I will even write down something (feed the cat!) just so I can have the satisfaction of achieving something...
